Undercover Social Media Investigations

This 2-day Proactive Techniques course is designed to equip law enforcement personnel with the skills necessary to investigate individuals using social media for criminal activity. Participants will learn how to create undercover accounts, navigate legal considerations, communicate effectively with suspects, and conduct investigations from initial contact through to prosecution, supported by real-life case examples.

The course will cover a range of topics, including violations related to fish and game, sexual encounters, drug distribution, human trafficking, and other criminal activities. Graduates will be equipped to immediately implement these techniques in their work. Additionally, staff will provide ongoing support after the training for future cases.

The instructor, Cameron Pavlicek, possesses an extensive background in law enforcement and has used these methods successfully in hundreds of cases. He is a former Montana Drug Task Force Commander and founder of Yellowstone Narcotics.
